Protein Expression & Sequence Database

LifeProt™ database contains protein expression and sequence information for a variety of human tissues, with links to related gene information in LifeSeq® database.

In collaboration with Oxford GlycoSciences (OGS), Incyte is searching for disease-specific proteins, sequencing them rapidly using proprietary mass spectral techniques, and linking disease association with gene data. This linkage between protein and gene information will provide a significant advantage in the race to use gene expression data in the development of new drugs and diagnostics.

Combining Genomics and Proteomics

LifeProt database is the first in a series of proteomics products developed by Incyte in collaboration with OGS. As leaders in their respective fields of gene expression analysis at the transcriptional level (genomics) and the protein level (proteomics), Incyte and OGS have combined their technological expertise to provide an integrated gene expression analysis platform that enables a new level of insight into biological systems. This platform illustrates the power of combining Incyte gene expression microarray and cDNA sequencing technologies with OGS mass spectral techniques to dissect biological systems at the molecular level.
